placebo response

At the 11. European Congress of Psychology (Oslo, July 2009) I was able to participate in a very inspiring symposium about the placebo response – and found an article today which nicely sums up of some of the very interesting studies which were presented there.

Steve Silberman manages not only to cover a huge field of research without making it too complex or boring, his article “Placebos Are Getting More Effective. Drugmakers Are Desperate to Know Why” is also up to date and critical of the pharma industries without sounding too conspiratory.

A very recommendable read.
