I just wondered how it is to be born blind.

As I imagine it, you wouldn’t know that there’s something wrong with you. Things are as they should be, because you don’t know that you are different. You don’t miss anything, because you have no clue what “seeing” is.

I wonder at what age blind children first understand (actually, cognitively grasp) what elementary part of the human repertoire of perception is missing. Is the human mind, even in later developmental stages, able to imagine what a visual sense is, when a human being was never able to see?
